European VMS Perception Survey

posted on 20 07 2016

The Mare Nostrum VMS initiative is currently undertaking an online survey to understand user perception of messages displayed to users on Variable Message Signs (VMS). With the increasing use of pictograms instead of fixed text messages, to overcome language barriers and to convey complex messages, it is essential that users comprehend the intent of the message accurately.

The online survey asks users to describe what they think the meaning of eight different displays are, and takes around ten minutes to complete. It will be open until the end of August 2016.
