The Guardian reports on the work undertaken by German researches who have used GPS tracking data from bicycle sharing schemes in London, New York and Berlin, to produce stunning visualisations that offer comparative views of life in the different cities. This is a great insight to what can be achieved with big data, where meaningful dissemination is often the greatest barrier to provide comprehensible information to the public or non-specialist stakeholders.
