RTPI and perceived waiting period

Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) is used to provide travellers with timely data on public transport service status.

In an interesting finding from a CIVITAS report, the provision of RTPI information can result in a decrease in perceived waiting time of 20% and where there is no information provided the perception is that waiting times are longer than they really are.
