Three influential figures in the area of intelligent transport systems have been presented with Lifetime Achievement Awards and inducted into the ITS Hall of Fame at the World Congress in Melbourne this week.

Professor Sampson is an ITS (UK) Ambassador, a trusted advisor to ministers, European Commission Officials and the European Parliament, and has made major contributions to the ITS World Congresses. Mr Steudle has led the State of Michigan in deploying one of the largest connected vehicle programmes in the United States and has served in the ITS America Board and numerous committees. Dr Watanabe has exercised leadership in product design using innovative technologies at Toyota Motor Corporation for more than 40 years and has played a crucial role as an international thought leader in ITS.
