The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders has published a position paper for CAVs.

The paper lays out the SMMT's position regarding a range of issues pertaining to Connected and Autonomous Vehicles. In addition to a forecast boost to the UK economy of £51 billion by 2030, it examines issues which accompany the data generated and used by the vehicles, the resultant Cyber security issues from these, the requirements for communications infrastructure to support this, the regulatory framework and how this will need to evolve to support the takeup of self driving vehicles and how the UK might make best use of its existing expertise to become a global leader in this field.
