ITS Now have launched a manifesto to detail the strategies which need to be considered prior to deploying Artificial Intelligence (AI) features in traffic systems.
Within the ITS sector, we have seen increasing use of AI in equipment and systems used for traffic management. However, at this point, their application is rather sporadic and lacks a cohesive approach to their use to achieve a strategic implementation.
In this feature length episode now on the YouTube.com/@ITSNow channel, Alistair Gollop is joined from Brussels by Joost Vantomme, the CEO of ERTICO (ITS Europe).
They talk about some of the challenges and look forward to the exciting future for the ITS sector, as Europe prepares for a major transition for mobility as emerging technologies and environmental constraints will alter how people and goods are transported. They also examine how the typically aging demographic of those working in ITS needs to be addressed in order to attract new entrants to the sector, along with some suggestions for areas of growth which may provide good career opportunities for younger colleagues to consider.
ITS Now (ITSnow.org) announce the winners of this year's ITS Now Innovation Awards, which were judged at the 2024 Traffex Exhibition. As well as looking out for innovative features in products, a key element to the judging was the environmental benefits that the equipment or system would have.

ITS Now has added its signature to a letter, alongside over 50 organisations, calling for the Prime Minister to introduce a Future of Transport Bill.

Alistair Gollop, Founder of ITS Now, was welcomed as a new member of Intelligent Transport Systems UK by Max Sugarman (CEO) and Steven Norris (President) at the Intelligent Transport Address held at The Royal College of Art.
Alistair Gollop, Technical Principal - Global Transport Technology Technical Champion at Mott MacDonald, has announced that following the huge amount of support and positive feedback that he has received from across the industry, will be leaving the company to focus his activities at ITS Now
